Collaboration with Clients and User Groups is central to the way we design, and is an enjoyable and inspirational process too. This method of engagement helps us to develop a brief, and provides a set of insights and demands for the finished programme. We use the information gathered though consultations and workshops to guide our creativity when we draw sketches, make concept models, and find materials, so that we can explore the solutions of a project and communicate these amongst ourselves and with our clients.
We love this method of innovation, as it allows us to learn form the knowledge of all the people involved in the project, and makes sure that we deliver exactly what the client needs. For each project, we initially visit the site and carry out an analysis to find out the governing principles for the design, such as views, light, and heat from the sun. We then work through a series of hand drawn sketches in our studio, quickly bouncing ideas off one another so that we get to grips with the constraints and the demands of the programme.
