Situated on the High Street in the heart of Bromsgrove the site consists of a three storey Victorian building with a wing of ancillary extensions located at the rear of the main building along the north eastern boundary of the site. The existing building has received numerous extensions and refurbishments over time and is in need of rationalisation and modernisation to reunify the high street elevation, improve its appearance to attract passing trade and increase visibility on the street.

Our proposal is for a refurbishment and extension to the building to create a food and drink outlet with an office or retail unit occupying the remaining space. We have maximised the available retail floorspace by infilling the existing archway which was previously used for vehicular access and is now redundant due to pedestrianisation. Access from the rear is provided by a service road, off which there is an area that may be used for deliveries. We have made the most of the courtyard appeal of the property by providing an external dining area that may be used for drinking and dining during the summer months and re-used the most characterful parts of the building and landscape.
