This development is a site specific response to the unique challenges of its location. The development is situated on a disused railway cutting. The memory of the cutting runs through the design of the individual houses and the planning of the site.
The design of the houses uses interlocking elements of brick, and timber weatherboarding to express the three dimensional geometric language which unifies the site. Each house is unique, but designed using this language which provides cohesion between the different plots, whilst allowing each house to be influenced by its micro context. Specifically this means that we have been able to embrace the potential of the site in terms of views, aspect, history, and context.
